Feels like it skews a little younger on the YA scale, despite the serious subject matter it addresses. The main character makes a ton of mistakes, but is allowed to acknowledge them and grow from the experience. A lot of people may find her mistakes pretty cringey, but I'm pretty tired of female characters never being allowed to mess up or do bad things before learning, and I was rooting for her to succeed.
