The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
5.0
This WW2 historical fiction was SO moving. This has two timelines - one where an unnamed older FMC is in the present (1995) and another looking back at the past. The latter being the majority of the book. The Nightingale focuses on family (including found), love, resistance, and survival. It is truly such a beautiful book and there isn’t anything I can say to do it justice. Just read it, and be prepared for extreme emotional damage.
Graphic: Genocide, Violence, and War
Moderate: Alcoholism, Death, Physical abuse, Rape, and Torture
