This novella was nothing like I expected, the title is provocative and was all I had going in and I feel this set me up for disappointment.
The themes of isolation and humanity are contemplated at length and in a complex and interesting way. However, I thought that the more minor themes of female-ness and feminism were at times neglected which made the dystopian aspect of the book feel weak as there was nothing from which the tension stemmed.
Although I desired something from this book which was perhaps not the author's intention, I enjoyed reading it none the less.
