The Ghost and the Graveyard by Genevieve Jack

1.0

The idea of the book was great and sounded promising. Unfortunately, this fell flat on multiple levels. I found none of it erotic. I didn't feel there was any love between the characters - attraction yes, but not love. Some things seemed to be repeated over and over again for no reason I could make sense of. I hate the whole, "we can't tell you the secret, you have to guess" crap unless it has a reason for existing and that never seemed to be the case. I also have trouble with the rather quick acceptance of the information about her power, the world with supernatural beings, etc. But maybe the most annoying part to me, was the magic. I don't fathom how you can have an "understanding" of the magic you used for hundreds of years for the big spells, but you don't recall the basics that would have been automatic in the way muscle memory is. No, that wasn't the most annoying. Now that I think of it, maybe it is that not only was our main character more or less instantly okay with the knowledge she has been reincarnated, but so too is her best friend. Just a little too matter of factly for my liking. On a good note, I did like this book more than the 1 star rated Twilight.
