The Word Is Murder by Anthony Horowitz

4.0

After the House of Silk - which was amazing btw - I thought I'd have a go at this one. I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. It was nice for Horowitz to write himself into the book but there were moments when I was questioning why he was making such rookie mistakes cause in my mind, with all the research that writers do I'd think they're well versed with certain things.
For example, you can't go meet a potential suspect all by yourself, let alone drink or eat whatever they offer you. The other problem I had was that Hawthorne was dragging him around, which can be a normal occurrence given the situation and makeup of their relationship, but I feel he was being looked down on by Hawthorne.
I felt tasked with trying to figure out what was real and what wasn't cause it truly was a mix of real life and fiction. So, if that was the goal, then Horowitz succeeded. Aside from these few things, I found the book entertaining, and it met up to my expectations of mystery and detective traits. I definitely want to read the next book in this series.
