Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake
by Sarah MacLean
there was a point when i opened the book and the idea of reading on wiped the smile off my face…but i will say that it had some moments. callie was a doormat who had so little self confidence it was grating on my nerves and gabriel was so sullen and couldn’t do anything right. it pissed me off that callie eventually settled for his proposal after he said he wasn’t sure he could ever love her because of his parents. i wanted more yearning from him and there wasn’t enough of his pov to convince me otherwise.
but this is a great example of why i like histros so much more than contemporary romance bc the stakes are so much higher. no one challenges each other to duels over a lady’s honor any more :/ i appreciate a good trouncing!
