I was extremeeeeeely disappointed by this book! I loved the first one and after finishing it expected this book to build on the relationships between the 4 teenagers. However, unsurprisingly most of this book Zélie spent her time being an entitled brat.
I really HATED the fact that everyone treated Amarie as if she were a villain and not on their side. YEs, amarie made some mistakes in this book, but had she not proven herself commuted to the cause enough in the first book?! I mean she stole the scroll and even killed her own father! Why are they treating her like an outsider. That really upset me throughout.
I also did not like the way Zélie treated Rowan. I mean why was that romance line even included? It felt very unnecessary.
Ending also left more to be desired, there was just no real character development. They were all the same as they were in the first book. I may read the third one but I am in no rush to do so.
