The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O'Farrell
3.0

I shouldn’t compare but I much preferred the characters and story of Hamnet to The Marriage Portrait. It never really coalesced into its full self for me. I kept waiting.

I did like learning the word uxoricide, used by the author in her notes at the end of the audiobook.

“The people who applaud the loudest, Lucrezia notes, are the ones who talked through the performance.”
