3.5 stars might be more accurate, I didn’t enjoy this as much as the original trilogy. However, it does seem poised to improve in the following books. The groundwork has been laid and I’m looking forward to more. (Not to mention, there must be a reason this is set in the same universe and not as a stand-alone new series, I’m eager to discover the connection.)
