ArchEnemy by Frank Beddor

4.0

Neighboring country of Boarderland is planning an invasion, and never has Wonderland been so vulnerable. With all it's people and Queen still recovering from their lack of imagination, Alyss and her group race to find an advantage against King Arch's cunning and force. But events are taken out of control when the ancient oracles themselves intervene with shady motives-- who's side are they on?

You know a trilogy is successful when it reaches the last book and you feel the characters' desperation to triumph. I felt it in this book, and I really wanted the good guys to win. The good news is that I've gotten used to Beddor's style, and I was appreciate the story as it is. It presented different point of views, and even then, I couldn't predict precisely what was going to happen in the end. This is a great trilogy for young readers, with an awesomely reconstructed Wonderland, and with each book, it gets better.
