The Book of Love: Poems of Ecstasy and Longing by Coleman Barks, Rumi

5.0

"Hearing Rumi's poetry helps. He would say, though, that poetry can be dangerous, especially beautiful poetry, because it gives the illusion of having had the experience without actually going through it."

I didn't really start reading poetry until recently, which helped me get out of this reading slump I fell into. I can't tell you how utterly, ridiculously happy it makes me to come across writers like Rumi. He's a whole new world, though. He writes absolute magic. I'm in love.
