This book was an enjoyable read. The characters were well-crafted, and I was particularly drawn to their dynamic as friends. It's amazing how the author managed to create a sense of intrigue and mystery around the lives of the characters. At times, I was left wondering if anyone truly knows the people they considered friends.

One of the things that stood out for me was the author's ability to weave together the different strands of the story. The plot was engaging and kept me wanting more. However, there were times when the story felt a little implausible, especially when Alice seemed to be present at every crucial moment. It was almost as if she had some supernatural ability to appear and disappear at will. Nevertheless, this did not diminish my overall enjoyment of the book.

Alice, the antagonist, was an unpleasant character to encounter. I couldn't help but feel that she had some underlying mental health problems that went unresolved. Alternatively, it's possible that she was simply a sociopath with no regard for anyone else's feelings.

Interestingly, my book club's first choice was this book, and I'm hoping that our discussions won't turn out like the events in the book. The thought of potentially dealing with an Alice-like character in real life is quite unnerving.
