What made me pick this book up:
I like anything creepy, anything ghosts, anything horror. I had been wanting to read this book for years because the cover just looks so creepy.

What did I like about the cover:
It just screams creepy. Creepy girl? Check. Bloody white dress? Check. Dark ominous background? Check. I absolutely love the girl on the swing made of thorns. I would love to do a photo shoot based just on this book cover.

What made me read this book?
I had decided to try out audiobooks because Jenn had been bugging me to try for a long time. I noticed that this book was on our audible and it was one of the shortest books on there. So for my first audiobook, I thought this would be perfect.

What did I like the most?
It was definitely very creepy. From the moment she saw the first ghost in the book I wanted to keep listening. Then when she saw her foster sister's ghost, I just had to find out what happened to her. The relationship between the main character and her friend Officer Dan was amazing. I would have just read a book based on them, and honestly, I don't normally like that kind of book. I think one of my favorite parts of the book, was also the mystery about what happened to her with her mom. It had been years since I read what the book was about and when I was listening she kept talking about something that happened to her when she was young, and the way the author described it was perfect. I was staring off into space just listening to it and imaging. I can only imagine what my face must have looked like.

What didn't I like:
Her boyfriend, he isn't in the book much, but I really didn't like him. Or her friend. She was annoying. As far as the audio, it took me a little while to get used to being read to, and to her switching voices. When she does the voice for Mattie's best friend, it is really really really high pitched and annoying, but she's barely in the book so it's bearable. Otherwise, she's good at making sure you know who is who and she reads at a good pace.

Would I read the rest of the series:
Yes absolutely!

I really enjoyed listening to this. It gave me feels, it made me laugh, it made me want to read more and more. Even once I found out whodunit, I kept wanting more and more. I cannot wait to read the next books.
