Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney

5.0

Within the first few minutes of listening to this, I loved the characters and I was sucked into their world. The protagonist, or one of, is cold, bizarre and yet totally self-aware. I was in awe of these powerful women that Rooney had written into existence.
Rooney's style of writing is casual and real, she mixed metaphors with words like liquid, it's a compelling book about compelling characters who are deeply real in so many ways. This book doesn't need the bravado of movie/storybook romance, it's real and it's about more than just love.
This book is excellent, and I'd recommend to anyone and everyone.
