If this is the dark romance the Tickle Tok girlies can't stop chatting about, I gotta say...NOPE. This isn't really for me. I like a good messed-up killer story like the next gal (I liked Saltburn, I'm a true crime aficionado), but this just doesn't align with my tastes.

My thoughts:

1. The portion of my brain that received a Masters Degree in Behavioral Psychology, and did a stint in relationship therapies won't turn off long enough to enjoy this. This is incredibly problematic (and inaccurate) on several levels dealing with mental health, personality disorders, and trauma handling.
2. Too much cringe-worthy smut.
3. Parts of the plot were intriguing. I walked away wondering if I wanted to read the next book just to see what happens to Shaw. I just don't know that I want to wade through the muck to find out.
4. Characters are stagnant or peripheral supporters. Very one note.
5. World building is minimal.
6. Highly readable writing style.
7. This seems to be up my best friend's ally, so I'll recommend it to her. So all in all I can't rate this too low if it left me intrigued, and willing to recommend it. I appreciated the writing and parts of the plot. But is it worthy of something more than a couple stars? No.

Honorable mention for learning how to expertly tattoo with shading in the course of a few hours. ROFLMAO.
