The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

4.0

Obviously an eye-opening and interesting read. How amazing is it that Anne thought to write the diary and that it should have survived so that we can understand exactly how she felt at this important time in history. She has feelings and thoughts that are easy to relate to as a teenager (or someone who has once been a teenager) despite living in a different time and circumstances.
I really wish I'd read it again, right before visiting the annex in Amsterdam. A very moving experience which I think would have been even more so.
