We Hereby Refuse: Japanese American Acts of Resistance During World War II by Tamiko Nimura, Frank Abe

informative medium-paced

5.0

Nonfiction graphic novel about the experiences of three Japanese-Americans sent to internment camps during WWII. Informative without being weighed down. I learned quite a bit about the camps and their administration—an interrogation of U.S. commitment to uphold the rights of ALL citizens and the detrimental manifestations of patriotism that historically (and to the present) serve to foment scapegoating.
