OKAY THIS BOOK LITERALLY SLAPS, one of my favorite books that i have read ever??. THE DRAMA,...the tragedy,... the ROMANCE...this book literally had me pacing around my house bc of the twists and turns...........it had me SHOCKED at several points like literally shook. i was freaking the fuck out no lie. the plot and adventure portion of this book is sooo strong, the way the author unravels the mystery of the protagonist Wei Wuxian's present and past is just so good. there's so much tragedy in his past, but done in such a good way like its not trying too hard or trying to be "edgy" but part of the story is so genuinely sad bro it made me cry several times. but you also become so connected to all of the characters throughout the story. A really well done aspect of this book is the extremely nuanced and well written relationships... usually in books where there is a primary romantic relationship, the other relationships that the protagonist has are uninteresting to me. but in this book EVERY relationship WWX had to the other characters was just as poignant as the one with his romantic interest, especially his relationship with his adopted brother Jiang Cheng, his adopted sister Jiang YanLi, etc... speaking of romantic relationships.. the romance in this book is LITERALLY peak. it has it all ...the pining the yearning the dumbassery the 13+ years of slowburn...TRUE LOVE ladies.......anyway 10/10. my only actual complaint is that this book isn't actually in english anywhere so I read it on this fan translator's website which, as much as I respect them for translating this 100+ chapter book, they're that type of girls on the internet who like obsess over gay men and are like uwu yaoi xD... but i mean what can u do this is the ONLY english version of the book in existence (as far as i know)

but again as i said its a cringey ass website so when u click on it its gonna be like "SERVING UP YAOI & BL" with a BIG ASS anime pic...also again its a fan translation so the language isn't perfect. read this if u want something that has an entertaining story, not if u want something thats profound or has nice flowery language
