my god. i have no idea how to properly say all that i want to say.

1. i hate juliette. god, i hate that girl. i do NOT understand why people like-like her. i don't understand what's so special about her except her superpower that is way too fucking OP. i can't believe this is what we all used to love - a heroine that has NO redeeming qualities and is perfectly beautiful and is super strong, but only has the ability to have two love interests, and not even keep them properly.

2. kenji has developed very nicely. in book 1, he was a somewhat annoying character, but he expanded more here. i appreciate his perspectives, his harshness, his loyalty and protectiveness for the Point. i've grown to like him a lot, because he showed me that there is so much more to him, and that he is not just an annoyingly comic-relief character. just being the key word here. mr sarcastic comments guy is still very much so active.

3. uhmmm -- aaron warner. i like him now. it feels like he is not the same person as he was in book 1, and i don't know why. i don't know why his entire being was flipped around, so i'm just going to ignore that he existed in book 1, and appreciate the character he is NOW.
speaking of aaron, and juliette? god. i hate her. i don't know why he likes her, he definitely deserves better than juliette and her 'i can fix you' bullshit. her attraction to warner makes zero sense in my head, and quite frankly, she is still very annoying about the touches she feels from adam and aaron and just all that shebang. she is actually just annoying because it feels like all the feelings she has is just based on whom she can touch now lmfao.

4. i feel like the entire book was more of a romance drama than amything dystopian. it definitely was NOT the driving force that propelled things. rather so, it was juliette's not wanting to feel useless and the love drama that really allowed things to 'progress' in any direction. i don't know if that'll change in any way, but we'll see.

5. juliette annoys me. did i say that already? her refusing to behave like a normal human being makes me aggressive. her stopping to think about other people as beautiful during dangerous situations makes me aggressive. HER GOING DIRECTLY AGAINST KENJI'S ORDER TO LOOK AT WHAT AARON DOES WITH A DOG MAKES ME AGGRESSIVE. her pulling adam and kenji closer to the fake home anderson created when he first wanted to meet with juliette makes me aggressive, because how can you be so obviously careless.

6. i still don't know why or how aaron warner fell in love with juliette what's-her-last-name. literally no idea. he was holding her hostage and was forcing her to have dinner with him and she didn't offer a single thing of her life for him to get enarmoured in any way. she was a we-- oh my god. i just realised something. when he kissed her in that room when she shot him, did he not sense her change of mind to shoot him? her distraction in thoughts away from the kiss, her nervousness about her plan, the betrayal she was going to commit? didn't he sense it? why was he so shocked at her shooting him anyway??

7. juliette saying: I have to face the fact that I’m battling feelings for someone who has no qualms about putting a bullet in another man’s head.
- shut the fuck up. do you think adam never killed anybody? dumb girl. she annoys me, GOD.

ALL IN ALL,
sadly enough - or lucky enough? - i'm still intrigued enough to want to read more and continue on. this has not deterred me from wanting to continue. sadly. or luckily. i'm not sure which yet. we will find out soon. i think. AHHHH.
