The Doctor's Discretion by E.E. Ottoman
3.0

I really wish I'd liked this more because on paper, there was a lot to love. William, Augustus and Mr Moss were wonderfully diverse and well developed characters, the locations were described in a way that felt very immersive, and the writing had a cozy-esque quality that I appreciated. The romance was a bit too insta-lovey for me, though I loved how William and Augustus grew to understand each other and treated each other with tenderness. Liked the romance but didn't love it. My main issue was that the conclusion to the central plotline felt too rushed/neat. The beginning was intriguing and had some tension but it really fizzled. Idk this might be more of a 3.5 overall but the ending just left me feeling so unfulfilled.

I'd love to read more from this author, since I was fan of this writing! Hopefully I find a book that works a bit better for me.
