"The truth and I have a complicated relationship."
I really enjoyed the plot of this book. You get all the ups and downs, you feel both the pain and the triumph throughout the novel. In my opinion, Pony was a strong character, and I wish the story would've been told more through his point of view, and less of Georgia's.
Georgia. I really struggled to like her. From the beginning, she was nothing but fake. She led Pony on, lashed out at him for "keeping a secret" from her, then led him on again. There's a moment towards the end where she contemplates outing Pony because he shows up to the dance with a girl she doesn't like. That really sealed the deal for me. Honestly, I just found her annoying and manipulative, but I digress.
The story covered a lot of complex ideas and emotions pretty wonderfully. It all flowed very nicely and none of it felt disjointed. It was interesting to see Pony navigate his new life, and all of the pros and cons that everything has. Nothing was painted to be completely good or completely bad. Everything from friends to girls to parents, nothing was perfect, which was refreshing.
