I think I just must not be into dark romances anymore. This one just made me roll my eyes so much & I found it too boring.
I didn't like either character at all. Even the FMCs friend annoyed me. The little brother was the only tolerable one IMO.
I didn't understand Parker's character. It was hard to suspend my disbelief when it came to him & the "power" he held within the city.
I was just so ready to be done with this that I didn't even really care about the 🌶️ scenes.
Overall, I felt like this retelling just didn't work. Maybe if it wasn't modern day or it was set somewhere else, but I feel like it felt too forced.
