MDZS is in part about how you can’t stay neutral in the face oppression.
Wei Wuxian is not perfectly good at all (neither is Lan Wangj though they‘re mostly seen as opposites on the spectrum). he kills, endangers and hurts the people around him and is often over confident in himself. He also deeply cares about people and he won’t accept things just because they’re the status quo.
Anyways his character is one the reasons this is so enjoyable to me.
I wish we had as many fleshed outand alive female characters as male but still luv Wen Qing and Mianmian and even Yanli.

Quotes:
“Young man, there are two cringe-worthy phrases in one’s life that must be said, no matter what.”
“Which two?”
“‘Thank you’, and 'I’m sorry’.”
“What can anybody do to me if I don’t say them?”
“Someday, you’ll say those words in tears.””
“But what he hadn’t expected was that when everyone feared him and flattered him, Lan WangJi scolded him right in his face; when everyone spurned him and loathed him, Lan WangJi stood by his side.“
“Between you and me, there is no need for 'thank you' and 'sorry'."
