I give this 2.5 stars because I liked it less due to the occurrence of some colourful utterances by Hastings and one of the characters in the story of the jewels, I think it was the first story... I still pressed on because it was one of the milder ones and I chose to ascribe the meaning that is not offensive as a donkey is that and someone calling themselves a donkey or another, maybe they just mean that they are stubborn.
