I actually enjoyed this more than I expected to. It was silly and easily digestible fun, a perfect example of a 'coming of age' YA book that doesn't try to be more than it is, but also doesn't patronise the reader.

The plot line is simple - four teenage girls are separated over summer break for the first time ever and have various adventures, while using the 'travelling pants' to stay connected as they ship them back and forth between one another. It really is just a book about friendships, learning to be independent, making mistakes and making amends for them, and growing up. The writing style was simple, but not simplistic. It would be the perfect read while on summer school holidays.
