I loved this! I could’ve done without the magical realism, but I love stories of the underdog/marginalized finding their voice and standing up for themselves, as well as discussing representation in the canon. Loved the building and development of the characters, and I enjoyed the Providence tidbits.
If you liked this book, I highly recommend Symphony of Secrets by Brendan Slocumb as a pairing. It touches on a lot of similar themes but in the music world.
