Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds
4.0
4.5★
The best of the trilogy. Too bad, Reynolds went in quite a different direction for the remaining two.
With the focus being on xenoarchaeology and artifacts, this is second only to chasm city in terms of inducing dread and a sense of claustrophobic unease but first in terms of inducing existential ones with the stakes involved.
