I may be biased as a girl whose boyfriend has a girl best friend that he travels with, lol. I also just don't think I'm into the friends to lovers trope.

Croatia drama was built up the entire book, and the reveal was kind of a snooze. I also didn't like how

after Palms Springs, Poppy and Alex weren't officially together yet. I thought they already expressed their love? And it got even worse when Poppy flew to Ohio and gave a speech only to be "rejected" AGAIN... like how many times can two people fumble each other? I also found the therapy stuff kind of out of left field. I know she had some unresolved trauma from middle school bullies, but I really didn't get the impression that she was unhappy with her current life... until chapter 35 or so after Palm Springs when we are explicitly told she's unhappy with her life.

I'm glad they ended up together, but
I just didn't find the characters as lovable as in Happy Place or in TJR rom coms.

Still, I found it reasonably enjoyable and would try another EH book
