sloooowwwwww start- with that being said, i think there were portions of the book that felt extremely drawn out that could have been paced better. plots and storylines that could have been wrapped up a little quicker and other portions that felt rushed despite the build up that occurred for a long time throughout the book.
despite that, i still really liked the book. in fact much more than the first. Kuang knows how to play with a girls emotions though and while i knew i was getting into a dark & realistic war(s)-based fantasy read,EVERYONE FREAKING DIES . i haven’t read a book where my heart ACHES the way it does at the end of each book the way this entire series does throughout its entirety.
there’s a slow burn with a plot twist that honestly KILLS me. got to the end of the book and went straight to sleep because i couldn’t handle the emotional pain anymore.
