This is a new-to-me author in a series we’re reading in a group chat. I enjoyed the book, but am still confused about some of the details.

Reconnecting with a childhood/friend’s little sister is a great premise, especially when both were interested at both points of the timeline. I do not understand the logistics nor the benefits of being a flame demon, though. That took me out of the story and I had also expected more spice from the series description.
