I recently picked this much-recommended book up to read and put it down for good after a few sessions. I found it tedious. I think I would have enjoyed it twenty years ago when "zany" was a category I appreciated more.
It's possible I would have come around to sing its praises if I'd forced myself to stick with it longer, but I'm too much of a hedonist for that.
