This is not a dime a dozen domestic thriller written after a formula. It's a visceral, engaging, and moving story about a woman surviving something horrifying and it's been a while since I was this invested in a book character's fate. The talented audiobook narrator (Sarah Lam) helped in making the eight hours of this book fly by. It only dragged a little toward the climax. There were also a few things I thought the book was building toward that didn't happen, which felt odd and dissatisfying. All in all, though, it was a terrific read.
