The Body is Not an Apology, Second Edition: The Power of Radical Self-Love by Sonya Renee Taylor

challenging emotional hopeful inspiring medium-paced

5.0

This book is amazing. It's about so much more than not being self conscious of the way you look. It examines soany of the issues facing our society, and discusses how they are rooted in heirarchies that exist and how harmful they can be to us as embodied beings. The book sits at the intersections of sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, and other issues. Sonya Renee Taylor asserts that as we learn to love ourselves, we can free ourselves and others from systems that oppress us. I highly recommend it.
