In this volume of Heartstopper, Nick's identity and Charlie's mental health really take center stage. Nick must deal with coming out to his family, and Charlie has to learn that he cannot truly help him in this endeavor. Charlie instead has to focus on his own mental health and recovery, while Nick must swallow the pill that loving him enough will never fix his problems. It's an emotional journey and it's lovely to watch these two take on their problems together.

I loved this book. I felt like it handled some very big and serious issues with grace and a lighthearted air that encouraged the reader to see the beauty in the world and have faith in the process. The tone of these books is my favorite thing about them  It's the cozy peace that people often describe they feel when playing Animal Crossing. They remain my favorite books to read when I have trouble sleeping. I especially loved the messaging in this book about not being able to solve someone else's problems. It's a difficult and important lesson to learn.

This book does take on some very serious subjects so please check your trigger warnings prior to reading. Your mental health should always come first.

I love these books and think everyone should read them.
