Forever Evil by Geoff Johns

4.0

I think because I went into this with such low expectations, I ended up pleasantly surprised. I went into this just for Nightwing, since this is crucial for his story-line. Also my DC knowledge is mostly Batfamily-centric and the rest of the universe I just barely keep up with.

Despite all of that, this was still fairly enjoyable. It would probably be difficult if you knew absolutely nothing about the Syndicate and the multiverse, but my bare minimum of knowledge got me through it okay.

Most of the Sydnicate I found to be somewhat boring, except for Owlman and Superwoman. I already liked Owlman before, but this was really the first time for me encountering Superwoman. What a manipulative genius. That's all I'm going to say.

Having this story from Lex's perspective was really interesting. He ended up being a very endearing character. His relationship with Bizzaro was fantastic.

And of course, Bruce and Dick's reunion was very, very well done. That made the entire story for me.

However, after reading Nightwing, I think I needed more about Dick's "death", because both these stories just sort of acknowledged that they had told everyone that Dick was dead, but didn't actually show that decision being made or really the ramifications of his identity being revealed.

Also, are the Teen Titans okay? They were sucked up in an early issue and then we never saw them again.

It's not the best event DC has had, but it was a fun one. (What can I say? I like villains.)
