nojobro 's review for:
Runaway Girl
by Tessa Bailey
Fairly good.
The audiobook narrators are both good, with the female one very good.
Most of their attraction to one another comes off as being hot for one another. Better relationship bonds are there in the end of the book, but from the beginning it was just thinking the other person is hot.
To remember by: Naomi runs from her society wedding at the last minute. She ends up in St. Augustine Florida and finds an ad for a beauty pageant coach, probably the only thing on earth she'd be qualified to do. (she is a rich girl who has never had a job nor lived away from home.) So this all happens on the same day and I had to just whistle past it. Anyway, the coach is for Jason's sister, who is 17 or 18. Sis is doing the pageant because her twin sister, who died about 6 months ago, wanted to do it. The story line there is a little unbelievable, but if you just gloss over it a little bit it ends up being sweet.
The timeline is a little smushed together but not insta-love territory. I think Naomi is there for a month before anything happens between them. Jason is over-protective and too possessive for my taste. The pregnancy at the end is stupid, but it could have been way worse and wasn't used as a plot device.
I liked Jason's little sister.
Quite detailed sex and quite a bit of it. It's too possessive for me on the guy's side, though. Also: too rough.
I think this was my first Tessa Bailey and I would try another one where I like the stated storyline. I originally picked this one based on the reddit "best sex scene" thread (I wouldn't have put this on the list, though it's definitely hot).
