This book was dark without being hopeless. It was unlike anything I’ve ever read about contemporary indigenous life and I loved it. The pacing or writing style didn’t QUITE make it a transcendent read for me, but I admire all Boulley has done here and as a writer I really appreciate her story as someone with a day job who dreamed a beautiful book into reality over 10 years.
