The Daydreams by Laura Hankin
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? Yes
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? Yes
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
Itches this book scratched:
• child tv stars back together for a reunion special for their show that went off the air in disaster
• unrequited first love
• revenge, albeit sort of a thwarted plot
• some twists that made me gasp
• sticking it to the Disney-esque teen star machine
I was expecting a romance plot and we sort of got one, but definitely not the one I was expecting! I almost wish I had read this in print or ebook (instead of audiobook) so I could see the formatting for the journal entries and gossip blog posts.
Anyway, go read this book if you have any of those itches listed above!
