Wild Highway
by Devney Perry
Devney has really done it again with this next installment in the Runaway series, and I was so THRILLED to read this book.
I was really excited to learn about Gemma and get to know Easton in the second book in the Runaway series.
Gemma Lane is the heroine and she has come a long way from her homeless/drifter ways of her youth. She has know grown into a well educated adult, and is known for her power in her own right. She just keeps swinging and hitting her life out of the park. But what is all the money and power, if she is a wounded soul?
Gemma was on the way across the country in a Cadillac, but she ends up in Montana with someone from her past.
Easton Greer is the hero in this story, and he meets his match in Gemma. Gemma tries to ignore his crazy comments in an effort to be the bigger person and to win back his friendship (maybe more.)
I could tell they both recognized the wounds in each other. And when he calls her “darlin’” it totally melted me.
Devney has done it again in the quick read, with an emotional one two punch. Pick this one up and Runaway Road and you won’t be disappointed in either read. No cliffhanger, and its a series of standalones!
