Stars in Your Eyes by Kacen Callender

Logan Gray is Hollywood’s resident bad boy. Mattie Cole on the other hand, is Hollywood's golden boy. When they are both cast in a new romantic movie, there is immediate tension, which results in some bad publicity for the film. To turn that around and get some positive attention for the movie, the two begin a fake relationship. But over time, real feelings begin to develop.

This book was incredible. I had seen some amazing reviews, and was hesitant that this book wouldn’t live up to the hype. However, it exceeded all of my expectations. This book is so raw, so real, so deep. It handles some pretty heavy topics (past childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, emotional abuse by a parent, homophobia, anxiety, depression, PTSD, cheating) but does so in such a caring way. There were moments where this story was difficult to read because of the trauma these characters endured, yet there were always hopeful undertones. The healing that was able to take place throughout this story was a beautiful journey, and the way the relationship between Logan and Mattie allowed space for that healing was especially incredible. This story was definitely an emotional ride and it is so powerful. The HEA was made extra sweet due to the ride to get there.
