4.0

I've enjoyed everything of his that I've read because the characters feel well developed and I like all the interweaving of stories and connection between characters, but this one was hard for me at times. The Louisa character was tough in part because of the writing (so very much eye rolling and sarcasm) and the narration maybe made that worse (a lot of sharp and loud dialogue that made it seem like the character was always yelling). Louisa came off as pretty irritating which made it hard to care about her and feel her depth. While listening I often wondered if I would have liked her character more if I had read it (and therefore read it with how I thought her intonations would be) as opposed to listening to the audiobook.
