Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.

The writing style just wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel connected to the main characters relationship to root for them. While other aspects of the story were intriguing like the main conflict within the local community and the dynamics of the family, the actual budding romance between the main characters didn’t seem all that realistic or strong enough. Some of the language used in the book also didn’t make sense with the characters/time/setting which constantly brought me out of the story.
