I keep thinking about the parallels drawn between medical abuse of "difficult women" and medical abuse of autistic children. I keep thinking about the way Silas sees the world through the medical lens. I keep thinking about the rabbit. I keep thinking about the way abuse will have women turn on each other in a desperate attempt to make themselves safe. I keep thinking about the c-section. I keep thinking about the hysterectomy.
Reading it is not enough I need to do something deeper, on the level of flesh, such as a swapping of blood or taking a piece of meat like communion as a sort of terrible poetry.
