Allison Shatters the Looking-Glass by C.M. Stunich

4.0

Normally I'm really not someone who appreciates books that are actually written for the sake of sex. I want a little more plot, a little more depth (funny, Annette, you're so funny) and a little more personality for my characters. But when I saw the covers for this series, I just wanted to give it a try and now I've finished the first trilogie I don't regret it one bit.

Yes, a big focus of the story is the sex and Allison forming her harem of nine guys with big cocks. The blurb on the back is pretty clear on it, so you know what you're getting yourself into and therefore I was actually surprised the other way round. I was expecting loads and loads and loads of sex scenes and little to no plot or personality or emotional development. And although this last book contained more sex than the previous two, it still doesn't forget the other important parts of story telling.

All the characters in these books have their stories and although some characters get more background than others, they're not just one of the nine guys Allison fucks. And the same goes for Alice. She does have a story, a life, a background. She has issues and trauma's and emotional luggage she has to deal with. And part of her coping is the sex, but it's not just that. We watch those characters grow and learn and they have a journey that's about more than just fucking.

This last book is a nice mixture of action (the epic finale kind of showdowns), closure (with Allison's family), making connections (through sex and conversations) and exploring more of Underland (one day to be Wonderland again). And this combination really makes me long for more. It's addictive, it's amusing and entertaining and it's satisfying. I can't wait for the spin off series to be released!
