My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine

1.0

This book was extremely disappointing. The main character, Cassie, was hard to root for considering how dull and, frankly, annoying she was. She finds out her new roommate is a vampire within the first 100 pages and is freaked out (understandably) but within 24 hours she’s decided he’s trustworthy and is already moving back in with him?

Frederick’s vampire skill being the ability to conjure fruit is such a random and unnecessary plot point that honestly adds nothing to the main plot of the story other than he keeps a closet full of fruit and is super weird and mysterious about it at first?

Not to mention the main conflict of the story is introduced and resolved within 30 pages by the main character threatening to post a Tiktok exposing the existence of vampires in order to get her vamp boyfriend’s mother to release him from a dungeon???

Super disappointing read although I do give it two stars merely for the fact that the love scene did stir something inside of me a bit. Glad I didn’t buy this book at full price, that’s for sure.
