I think I will read the next book instead of listening to the audiobook.  Jasmine Mas writes unhinged dark  romance fantasy that is also incredibly funny ... In an extremely sarcastic and cynical way.
If a reader is triggered by non con or dub con sex scenes, if insane and violent MMC who stalk and terrorize the FMC then do not read Mas' books.

The Mas universe has no relevance to the real world so the reader needs to be able to separate fiction from real life.  Alexis is just a girl trying to survive in a terrible world.  Ok she is a bit weird and writes erotic fan fiction about Carl Guiess, a 19th century mathematician

Her FMC are always one step away from totally losing their shit and obsessed with whether death is a viable option.  As in: being dead would at least be quieter or warmer or less stressful than this hell.  Anyone who has had to work double overtime to make an impos ible deadline or work outdoors in -20 degree weather or be stuck in a social situation with the worst people in the world will understand the thought that death may be a viable option at this point.

And that's the humour of this book and her previous series "Cruel Shifterverse".   The world is insane, psychotic and totally off balance but weirdly misshapen animals are adorable,  love for your BFF tops any other relationship even if you are mostly trading barbs at each other and most of your time is spent exhausted, dirty, bloody and muddling through life by purposely obliterating yourself in a haze of alcohol, drugs or other mind altering substance

I guess what I'm saying here is that these 20 year olds are EXACTLY how I was at 20 yrs old.   None of this YA super smart hero shit.  More like being dragged into adulting one disaster at a time.

My only disappointment is having to wait until OCTOBER 2025 for the next installment!
