Feast of Sparks by Sierra Simone

3.0

Probably more of a 2.5 stars but I'm rounding up to 3.

This book was just so boring-- there was no plot, few sex scenes, and the flashbacks were pointless. The reason for Auden and Saint hating each other for so long was just dumb and mostly based on lack of communication.

The plot twist at the end, which I spoiled myself for because I had to know why people were so angry at this book, was very City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, and because I've been through it before, I highly doubt that it's going to play out at face value. There's gonna be another twist. This is just something to cause more drama to stretch out over the next two books. So because I don't actually believe it, it didn't bother me as much as others.

Why so highly rated then? Because I love Sierra Simone's writing style. It's lovely and atmospheric and navigates between the mundane and kink scenes so well.

I already bought the next book so I will of course be continuing on with this series sometime.
