I was blown away by Just Last Night, so I was thrilled to see a new Mhairi McFarlane coming out! But this one just didn’t hit for me. The first half was quite slow, and characters consistently made decisions that seemed to come out of left field in a way that wasn’t really believable. I sped through it, but finished feeling pretty meh. That said, I still love McFarlane’s writing style, and I’ll be excited to check out her future titles in hopes they’re as fantastic as the first one I read.
