Stranger in the Lake by Kimberly Belle

2.0

2.5. The plot was a bit slow to be considered a thriller — there was one moment of tension at the end. Otherwise, it was filled with Charlotte’s musings about the mysteries of her past and present. Did she mention that she had been poooor? I never connected with her personal narrative and would have enjoyed the book more if her inner dialogue had not been continuous/repetitive low-grade drama and worry. The dialogue between characters was often cheesy, although I did enjoy the real connection that she had with her brother. It was apparent who the first murderer was quite early on in the book, but the random family connection for the second one was a nice touch.
