Don’t know how far I got but dipping in to BDSM play and then shitting on a safe word is what killed it for me. Tanya calls Levi daddy. He spanks her, takes care of her, etc. but then says he’s going to do what he wants and doesn’t play by the “rules” *insert biggest fucking eye roll* this guy is annoying as hell. And sorry you don’t jump into spanking with a belt if it’s the first time the person has been spanked! Levi also uses the “your body will tell me what you don’t like” and “I’ll do whatever I like to you” which both are gross and no. STOP. IT.
I know it’s supposed to be fantasy but the quickest way to kill the mood with BDSM book is to throw away the “safe, sane, consensual” model of it and have the male character essentially not listen to the girl because they “know best”. Too many people are like this in the BDSM community that it really fucking creeps me out reading about it in fiction. ESPECIALLY A ROMANCE NOVEL.
The writing was poorly done, the relationship is not well developed and the characters are completely flat and boring.
